Joost Kool is a senior policy adviser on housing and shared housing at Gemeente Amsterdam, working on solutions for shortages in housing and affordable housing. Joost graduated with honours from the University of Amsterdam in political science and theory and has almost twenty years of experience working for different local governments on different aspects of the housing market and social housing. His experience includes negotiating agreements between housing corporations and regional governments and working on regional and local law proposals on (social) housing, as well as advising local government on different aspects of housing and shared housing. In his current role, Joost focuses on shared housing policy for the city of Amsterdam and ways to make a better use of the existing housing stock.
